Eleganza Iconica By... Emma Cowan

Eleganza Sposa were delighted to sponsor and support the Glasgow Caledonian University 4th Year Fashion Business Students 2013 Fashion Show.  We set the students the challenge of designing exquisite wedding gowns for our in-house Eleganza Iconica Collection. Four inspiring winners were selected, one from each of the Eleganza key looks. Emma Cowan, a Fashion Business graduate from Glasgow Caledonian University, won the Romantica category in the Eleganza Sposa Wedding Gown Design Project. Her dress 'Emiliana' perfectly fits our Romantic bridal style, which encapsulates elegant, soft silhouettes with exquisite detail. We spoke with Emma to learn more about the young designer... Which fashion designer do you most admire? 

Mary Katrantzou - I love her digital prints, her designs are simply beautiful.

How did it feel to have your design selected by Eleganza?

Having my design picked by Eleganza Sposa felt amazing.  I am so happy that my dress won the Romantica category and can't wait to see it in the store.

What was the inspiration behind your design? 

My designs were centered around the Romantica theme so I took inspiration from beauty spots around the world, nature and flowers. 

What are your plans for the future now you have graduated?

I am hoping to pursue a career in fashion design now that I have graduated.

 The 'Emiliana' gown designed by Emma Cowan will be unveiled in an exclusive event at our Eleganza 'Iconica' Boutique.
