Eleganza Real Bride: Cathleen

Eleganza Real Bride: Cathleen

How would you describe your Eleganza Experience?

It was amazing, my dress was the last one I tried on and everyone was so patient whilst I worked through the various things I was looking for. And it was so worth the wait as I absolutely loved my dress. I then was able to get all of my accessories from Eleganza as well, which just brought everything together beautifully!

Would you like to share with us your proposal moment, favourite part of planning your wedding or what you have planned for your honeymoon?

It’s hard to pick a favourite! We’ve been engaged for 3 and a half years through Covid and what’s lovely about planning a wedding is how many opportunities it gives you to spend with loved ones for special occasions, it reminds you how lucky you are to have so many special people in your life and that all comes together on the day itself! We’re still not over it to be honest!

Tell us more about your Suzanne Neville gown!

My dress was everything I thought in advance I had wanted. Classic, elegant, timeless and beautiful. How it made me feel was the best part though. Our wedding day was the best day of our lives and so much of that is how you feel in yourself, and the dress was everything I could have asked for and more in that regard. The reactions meant it was difficult to maintain make up - there were a lot of tears!! From the first try on to first looks that morning, we all couldn’t stop crying!

What was your inspiration for your wedding? Did you follow a specific theme or colour palette?

We built our wedding around our dream venue, which was Crossbasket Castle. Similar to the dress, we wanted it to be timeless but love the rustic edge that Crossbasket’s main ball room has and so loved adding details that complimented that.

Tell us more about your Big Day!

Our main focus by far for our day was making it as special a day as we could for all of our guests to come together and help us create memories that will stick with everyone for ever. And our guests absolutely showed up for that! We’ve been together a long time and our families and friends have had the chance to meet each other throughout the years and it meant even although it was a big wedding with 150 people, it still felt very close knit because so many paths have already crossed. The energy throughout the day was just full of joy and happiness, we still cry a wee bit when thinking about how lovely it was! And our suppliers just made that all possible by making it as enjoyable a day as possible for everyone there. From the morning of, where we had to get a bridal party of 11 ready (which thanks to our hair and make up dream team was still the most calm and fun experience ever - absolutely loved the morning with my girls!!!) all the way to the dancefloor at 1am the next morning when they had to convince people to leave to catch their coach, it was just a dream being able to have all of our nearest and dearest in one place!

What was the most memorable moment?

Walking (or more accurately, dancing!) into our reception room! The music was playing, people were dancing and clapping, we could see everyone, we were just in from a glorious drinks reception in the amazing sunshine and we were ready to get the party properly started! The atmosphere was just fantastic and we were so excited for what was to come…which then was even better than we could have hoped for!

Do you have a favourite picture from your wedding day? Why is this image so special to you?

The close up of Martin and I laughing with each other. I see it and I can feel the happiness we felt at that very moment in my heart!
