Eleganza Real Bride: Emily

Eleganza Real Bride: Emily

How would you describe your Eleganza Experience?

I travelled up to the store from Newcastle and wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was blown away. The dresses were absolutely gorgeous. When I first tried my dress on it wasn’t something I thought I’d go for but we tried on an over skirt and moved the fittings around and I fell in love. The dress was a complete one off as it was designed and made by the store and by changing the over skirt it was even more bespoke to me. I love it.

Would you like to share with us your proposal moment, favourite part of planning your wedding or what you have planned for your honeymoon?

My husband proposed to me on the beach on our first family holiday with our little boy, surrounded by our immediate family. We had been together 9 years and it was our little boys first holiday so it was such a special moment. I think the favourite part of planning the wedding is actually seeing things coming together. I made quite a lot of things myself for the wedding and seeing these slowly come together, it was a lovely feeling.

Tell us more about your Eleganza Sposa gown!

The dress was totally bespoke and designed and made by Eleganza Sposa. We then tailored the dress in store too, so that it would be exactly what I wanted. It came in two pieces, an embellished fitted dress with a high slit up the leg. With a big overskirt attached from my hips that floated behind me giving me a train and slightly covered the slit. It felt sexy but classy at the same time. I also opted for a veil with a humongous trail as I wanted that the flow behind me while walking down the aisle. I loved the fact the skirt could be removed easily as it meant I could surprise my husband before our first dance and essentially have another look for the evening guests arriving. I got so many compliments about the dress and I still am now once people are seeing my photos.

What was your inspiration for your wedding? Did you follow a specific theme or colour palette?

We got engaged and booked our wedding to be within a years time so I had just under 11 months to organise it all! I went for a woodland/rustic type theme with lots of green foilage/eucalyptus with pops of white coming through. My bridesmaid wore sage green satin dresses and the groomsmen were all on navy suits. My husband and our little boy Ronnie, wore the same suit but had a cream waistcoat made each for them so that they were slightly different to the groomsmen.

Tell us more about your Big Day!

Our wedding was at Brinkburn Priory and it blew us away. It was the best venue I could’ve ever wished for, the grounds are beautiful and consist of a Priory, a Manor House, a cottage where you stay onsite and a big tipi. The ceremony took place in the Priory itself with a choir playing as we entered, as well as when we were signing the register. The reception took place in the tipi and we also had access to the white room which is where the DJ set up later on in the evening. We had the venue booked Friday-Monday so also had a party on the Sunday where we had the Brack Burger van serving our guests food & burgers for the day. Lots of drink, bouncy castles, games for the kids & karaoke etc made it like a festival day and it was amazing.

What was the most memorable moment?

When I first saw my husband at the alter.

Do you have a favourite picture from your wedding day? Why is this image so special to you?

My favourite picture is one of my husband Jamie, & our little boy Ronnie. We all look so happy and I think it captures our lives together perfectly.
