How would you describe your Eleganza Experience?
My experience at Eleganza was perfect from start to finish. Not only is it an absolutely beautiful setting, but every one of the staff were kind, friendly and very professional. I felt the staff were very knowledgeable which put me at ease. I was looked after very well!
Would you like to share with us your proposal moment, favourite part of planning your wedding or what you have planned for your honeymoon?
My husband proposed on the beach in Italy in 2021, while we were visiting my family. It was already a special and emotional holiday as my new niece was just born, but the proposal made it even more special.
My favourite part of planning the wedding was genuinely dress shopping! I visited lots of gorgeous bridal stores in the central belt but I get Eleganza were the only store to really see my vision for what I wanted and could provide the bespoke service to make that happen.
We got married on 30th December 2022 but as we are both teachers, we are waiting until the Spring holidays to go our honeymoon. On my 30th birthday we will be jetting off to Cuba for plenty of mojitos, sun, sea and sand!

Tell us more about your Suzanne Neville gown!
I had my eye on the Eternity dress from Suzanne Neville long before I was even engaged! When the time came to go dress shopping I knew it was the one. I loved the low back, the simple structured bodice and the beautiful mikado silk material.
However, I decided that I also wanted a removable lace jacket which covered my arms and had a high neck as my wedding was in winter. I was unable to find this anywhere but Eleganza. All I had to mention was ‘Grace Kelly’ to the manager, Lesley, and she returned with a jacket and belt sample which completed the whole look. Lesley arranged for the jacket to be altered for me and the belt to be made in the matching colour to my dress. I was over the moon! Lesley also chose a beautiful Eleganza hairpiece during my fitting that I fell in love with, as it tied everything together beautifully.
What was your inspiration for your wedding? Did you follow a specific theme or colour palette?
I was a warm, cosy winter wedding with a nod to a Christmas as it was December. I did the table decorations myself by ordering lots of poinsettia, burgundy flowers and Christmas foliage. We covered the top table in holly too which looked great.
My gorgeous bridesmaids wore a burgundy Karen Millen dress and my sister Lucy, the flower girl, wore a white dress with a blush-pink sash. As their bouquets were burgundy and blush, everything tired in nicely.
Tell us more about your Big Day!
The weather was horrible on the Big Day! I was hoping for a sunny, frosty winter’s day, but instead there was gale force winds and torrential rain! Luckily our photographer Iain did a fabulous job of the photos so we weren’t outside for too long, and my Mum is a hairdresser who could sort any hair that got shifted by the wind! Despite the weather, everyone had a great time. Our venues, the Glasgow University Chapel and Cottiers were really suited to a winter wedding.

What was the most memorable moment?
Saying our vows in front of all our nearest and dearest was very memorable. To top it off, we were married by my uncle, so it was lovey to keep it all in the family!
Do you have a favourite picture from your wedding day? Why is this image so special to you?
My favourite picture is one of Daniel and I stopping to kiss halfway down the aisle as we left the ceremony. You can see the joy on our faces!
