Eleganza Real Bride: Jemma

Eleganza Real Bride: Jemma

How would you describe your Eleganza Experience?

When I walked into Eleganza last year with my mum, gran and my mum’s best friend who was treating me to my wedding dress, I felt like I had walked into girl heaven. The staff were so lovely, welcoming and excited for me, the store was absolutely gorgeous and my name and date of my appointment hanging on the tree was such a personal touch! I had a discussion with Rachel, who helped me find my dress, about what kind of dress I was looking for and I agreed to try a bit of everything… from start to finish I had the most wonderful experience and it made saying yes to my dream dress all that more magical. I now recommend Eleganza to every bride to be I know, I just loved every minute.

Would you like to share with us your proposal moment, favourite part of planning your wedding or what you have planned for your honeymoon?

As big Disney Adults, myself and my husband Michael were in our favourite place in the world, Disneyworld Florida, when he got down on one knee behind the crowd of people while the fireworks were going off, it was perfect and still intimate, and we were on cloud nine for the rest of our holiday. Planning my wedding has been my life for about a year and I’d say my favourite part was sorting out all the girly things for my Maid of Honour, 11 bridesmaids & 4 flower girls. As much as it was busy having that many girls, it was so much fun choosing dresses, shoes, hairstyles, etc with them and having them all there in the morning with me was wonderful. Myself and my husband went on a mini-moon to London, Milan, Florence and Rome and plan on going back to Disneyworld for our main honeymoon next year which is fitting!

Tell us more about your Riki Dalal gown!

The dress was a two-part when I first tried it on, I knew I wanted a timeless, white satin gown and when I tried the Angel Satin Skirt on I knew I’d definitely found the style I wanted, but I just wasn’t sure what I wanted the top part to look like. I tried a few different styles of top on with the skirt from the Riki Dalal Pure Collection. I loved them all but when I tried the Bright satin corset on I knew I’d found my dress. Rachel tied it all together with a little satin belt and helped me put a veil on and my mum was in tears. I loved the way the dress made me feel so elegant and the Bardot style was so flattering. I really loved the way this collection allowed me to try on lots of different styles of skirts with different top parts, and together myself and Rachel found the right match for me. The dream dress!

What was your inspiration for your wedding? Did you follow a specific theme or colour palette?

A small subtle theme in my wedding was Harry Potter (such as having “Always” on top of our cake etc) as we are massive fans. I also had many meetings with my decor and flower company as I tried to figure out what I wanted in terms of style and colour palette as I felt like I loved lots of different styles. In the end, I went for wildflowers, lots of pastels, peaches, moss green, dusky blues and gold, a bit of everything which worked so well with my mismatched taper candles. I found lots
of inspiration on TikTok and instagram. My bridesmaids were in a silvery champagne colour, and so the mismatched coloured wildflowers complimented the plainness of their dresses which I loved! I also added fresh gypsophila to their hair and later on after I took my veil out I added gypsophila to my hair to match them! I loved the colourful wildflower wedding theme and all the candles inbetween, it was just perfect for a spring wedding.

Tell us more about your Big Day!

Luckily at my venue, Inglewood House & Spa, I had a massive Bridal Suite for myself, my maid of honour & my 11 bridesmaids to get ready in. The day began for us at 6:30am as the makeup artists were arriving at 7am to begin and as there was so many of us we had to keep to a strict schedule. You would think it would be chaos with that many people (3 makeup artists, 2 hair dressers as well) but the girls made sure I was chilled out and this never changed the full day. After my mum helped me into my dress, I done a dress reveal with my stepdad and my bridesmaids, it was so emotional. The 12 girls and 4 flower girls went down the aisle to Time of My Life from dirty dancing and it was so much fun. I have never felt so amazing in my life in my wedding dress and with my makeup done by my makeup artist, Heather Niblo, my as I walked down the aisle with my Stepdad to marry Michael who was really emotional. The rest of the day went so fast and after many photos, drinks and dinner, the dancefloor was packed with all my favourite people in the world on the best day of my life.

What was the most memorable moment?

Walking down the aisle to Unchained Melody - Elvis movie mix version, and seeing Michael waiting for me at the alter.
