Eleganza Real Bride: Sinead

Eleganza Real Bride: Sinead

How would you describe your Eleganza Experience?

Magical!
I booked an appointment in the spur of the moment with two of my bridesmaids. I had been desperate to go to the shop and see the dresses from the moment I got engaged and I couldn’t believe that it was finally time to try on the beautiful dresses!

When I was making my wish list for Eleganza the Amalfi gown wasn’t even on it as it had off the shoulder sleeves and I really wanted something strapless. When Rachel pulled it for me to try on I saw the sequins glisten in the light and was obsessed already. I tried it on and I knew straight away it was the one for me! I couldn’t believe it! My bridesmaids said my face just lit up when I had it on. Rachel pinned the sleeves back for me to make it strapless. She then put the overskirt on and for the first time, I felt like a proper bride. It was absolutely stunning and I was obsessed. However, I didn’t buy it that day. I felt like I needed my mums approval before I said “yes” so left without the dress but I knew it was the one for me. A few months later I made another appointment with Eleganza for my mum and my future mother in law to see the dress. I was also 10 weeks pregnant with my daughter so it was a really special appointment. I said “yes to the dress” and left feeling so excited about what was to come!

Would you like to share with us your proposal moment, favourite part of planning your wedding or what you have planned for your honeymoon?

We got engaged in the height of lockdown! Gareth had hoped to propose on a holiday but getting away was looking less likely as the year went on. He decided to propose on Christmas morning 2020. I was opening some gifts when I turned around to Gareth who was down on one knee and said “Shindog do you want to get married?” lol! It was just the two of us and it was perfect.

My favourite part of planning was making vision boards of what I wanted the day to look like. I loved searching Pinterest, Instagram, Tik Tok and all the bridal magazines for inspiration. Even now the wedding is over I’m still flicking through Pinterest to look at other wedding trends. I planned and organised everything for our wedding and although it was stressful (especially with a new baby!) it was so much fun. I absolutely love everything about weddings and I’m so sad that it’s all over.

We are planning to book a few honeymoons! We are going away to Spain in May for a week with our baby girl Daisy. We’ll then fly to Canada to spend a few weeks with my sister and nephew. Gareth and I might head off to New York for a few days too. We have been desperate to go to Italy for years so will hopefully book a long weekend just the two of us for later in summer.

Tell us more about your Eleganza Sposa gown!

The dress is the Amalfi gown designed by Eleganza Sposa. It is covered in floral lace along with individual beading and clear sequins. It had a dramatic matching overskirt that complimented the dress perfectly. I knew it was the one for me as soon as I put it on. It was fitted, sparkly and dramatic - everything I wanted! I got it altered to take the straps off and made it strapless which I’m so glad I did. The straps were beautiful but it gave me a more Disney princess vibe with the overskirt which wasn’t what I was looking for. I spent a few months going back and forth about keeping the straps but ultimately I knew I wanted strapless as it was more “me”. I felt amazing wearing it too. I kept my overskirt on until the first dance because I wanted to spend every minute I could with the incredible train on. Everything about the dress was perfect and it made all of my dress dreams come true.

What was your inspiration for your wedding? Did you follow a specific theme or colour palette?

The vibe for our wedding was black and white with sparkles throughout - think disco glam! The wedding party were in black with the bridesmaids in beautiful one shouldered black dresses and the groomsmen in black dinner suits. Our stationary, table ware and decor was black and white. We also had disco balls in the centre pieces, place cards and welcome sign which added to the party vibe we wanted.

Tell us more about your Big Day!

From start to finish it was absolutely amazing - everything we wanted and more! As soon as we got engaged we knew we wanted it to be a total party for all of our guests and it’s safe to say Euan from Tartan Entertainment made sure that happened. Our guests were up dancing during dinner, swinging their napkins in the air and doing the Love Train through the venue! Euan organised a DJ battle between me and Gareth along with the Sax player later on in the evening. Everything about this was perfect and it made our day. We didn’t want our ceremony to be too romantic or lovey dovey but we did decide to write our own vows to each other. This was really special and I’m glad we decided to do it as our guests loved it. Paul Browett was our humanist and made sure to tell lots of funny and silly stories about us to get the guests laughing and smiling. The food at Enterkine House Hotel was absolutely amazing and something our guests are still raving about! We were so glad we booked a wedding nanny to look after our daughter Daisy. Daisy is the happiest baby ever and absolutely loves being around people so we were so excited to see her in her element on our big day. But unfortunately she took unwell the night before the wedding and still wasn’t feeling 100% the day of. Rebecca from Kaitlyns Kiddie Care was an angel sent from above! She was absolutely amazing and completely took over with Daisy meaning we could relax and enjoy our day knowing she was in great hands.
The day was just perfect and so many happy memories were made.

What was the most memorable moment?

I smashed the champagne tower by pouring the champagne too quickly! The glass went everywhere but instead of panicking I started drinking from the bottle with cheers from all of our guests!

Do you have a favourite picture from your wedding day? Why is this image so special to you?

My favourite picture is a photo of me, Gareth and our baby girl Daisy. She wasn’t feeling well on our wedding day but she gave us a little smile for the photo and I absolutely love it!
