Eleganza Real Bride: Sophie

Eleganza Real Bride: Sophie

How would you describe your Eleganza Experience?

I only visited one bridal shop before Eleganza, so my wedding dress shopping experience was very short and sweet! It was elegant, relaxed and very personal. I’s selected quite a wide array of dresses and was given time to review each one fully until I found the one!

What was your inspiration for your wedding? Did you follow a specific theme or colour palette?

We had a white theme for the wedding - I wanted a classic, atmospheric and romantic vibe to the day. I was really focused on the music of the day along with lots of candles and beautiful white flowers.

Tell us all about your Martina Liana wedding gown.

There were other beautiful dresses in the store but as I was getting married in Sicily this dress just felt like it would fit in perfectly in the setting! As soon as the veil was added it all felt like it fit in place and there was no question it was the one. As the journey was around 5 hours to the store my mum was unable to make my appointment, however there were other mothers of the brides in the store who made me feel like they were part of my day! I could certainly picture me standing in the church wearing the dress and that was everything to me.

Tell us more about your Big Day!

It was everything I’d meticulously planned and envisioned for the day - and very rare something met my expectations! We booked our wedding during the second lockdown (a week after we got engaged) so there were a few gambles but they all paid off. We booked a villa for all of our guests to enjoy and it really enabled the group to bond before the big day. When I arrived at the beautiful Sicilian church I was welcomed with loud cheers from the locals who waited outside! The service was in Italian and we had a translator who brought so much emotion and love to the day, she really was a great asset to the ceremony. We also had an Italian singer who sang throughout - it really was special! We then had some alone time taking some beautiful photographs around the town of Sicily, with plenty of “auguri!” from the locals. We then got a taxi back to the villa to meet back up with our guests. The Quartet made the evening so atmospheric and exactly how I pictured it! The table was absolutely beautiful (slightly ruined by the wind blowing out the candles constantly!). We ended the 6 course meal with the extremely emotional speeches, my husband couldn’t finish his but it was so special to read it after

What was the most memorable moment?

Walking down the aisle and meeting me husband to be.

Do you have a favourite picture from your wedding day? Why is this image so special to you?

Honestly the pictures are incredible- it’s certainly hard to choose! I love all of the images on the steps of a church in Sicily, they certainly show off the dress and are very romantic!
