It is our honour to announce that the humbled managing director of Eleganza Sposa, is to receive an honorary degree of Doctor of Business Administration from Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the fashion industry.
Anna has worked exceptionally hard and devoted a wealth of time to develop not just her business, but the minds of hopeful students who wish to pursue a successful career within fashion. Working closely with GCU for 5 years to aid students within the fashion, marketing and retail programmes, Anna has created an extensive variety of opportunities that has allowed them to flourish within their chosen fields. This includes assisting students with internships, mentoring them in the business of fashion, facilitating an overseas work experience opportunity in China, and working with lecturers to provide industry perspectives and links for students. Anna has also been successful in building international partnerships with China by being invited to give Masterclasses at Zhejiang Textile and Fashion College in Ningbo and Kashion, a leading manufacturing company whose clients include Michael Kors and Monsoon.
Dr Susan Ogden Head of Department of Business Management at GCU’s Glasgow School for Business and Society, said: “Anna has provided exceptional service to the University and to our students. She has supported students with her knowledge and industry insights and provided employment opportunities. Anna is a great asset to our Fashion, Marketing and Retailing team and we look forward to continuing to work with her in the future.”The ever humble and courteous Anna said of receiving this award “It was such an incredible surprise. It’s been a great honour to receive this award and it’s been a very rewarding experience to work with GCU students over the last 5 years. I would like to wish the fellow graduates every success in their careers.”
